What is a UV printer?

They use UV ink technology, which is immediately cured by cold light lamps. This technology offers a wide range of applications from printing soft foils, to paper boxes, to hard aluminum sandwiches.

The substrate can be virtually any material, only some sensitive materials such as polished metals, glass require the use of primers (adhesives) to help the ink adhere to the substrate. UV printers are usually manufactured as roll, plate or hybrid – a combination of roll and plate devices. In addition, UV inkjet printing eliminates the need for lamination, which significantly reduces production costs. UV roll printers can be 73cm wide but also 160cm wide, plate printers are available as small industrial flatbeds in A4 or A3 format and large industrial devices with a table size of 130x250cm. In recent years, UV printers with integrated trimming have become popular, allowing you to produce premium labels with varnish or various packaging, for example.
